Hello, & welcome to the Lions Club of Rayleigh web site! Our club is in the town of Rayleigh, Essex, England. For Lions club members around the world information, our club is in district 105EA, Region 5, Zone 5B. If you don’t know where Rayleigh is, look at the map below.
The Lions Club Of Rayleigh is part of the International Association of Lions Clubs. Lions are members of community service clubs dedicated to the idea that local people who live in the community are in the best position to know who needs help and why.
More than 44,500 strong, these local clubs are part of the world's largest service club organisation, with over 1.35 million members serving in more than 200 countries and areas. The association is both non-political and non-sectarian. Through membership in a Lions club people not only help those in need, but have the opportunity to develop friendships.
The Lions Club Of Rayleigh was chartered in 1974 and serves the Rayleigh, Hockley, Hullbridge and Rochford areas. Our club is a Voluntary Service Organisation and is a registered charity. The club currently has 27 members and is always looking for people willing to contribute time and energy to making their community a better place to live.
The running costs of the club are met by subscriptions paid by the members, therefore all monies raised from activities are returned back into the community via various projects.
Our club meets on the 1st (business) & 3rd (social) Tuesdays in the month at the Cedar Centre, 90 Castle road, Rayleigh. (see map below) Guests are welcome at Social meetings, but attendance at Business meetings are restricted to members or prospective members of Lions Clubs international.
