Our Club supports the local community, physically & financially with donations, or buying essential equipment for individuals, community organisations or local & national charities.

Our Club will consider requests for help or a donation from the club. Requests for help from individuals, voluntary organisations and charities are discussed at our business meetings.(held on the 1st Tuesday of each month.)

To fund our donations, our club members are involved with various fund raising events. Our main fund raising events are our Firework display & Christmas sleigh.

Other events include Barn dances, Quiz nights, Village Fayres, Easter Egg hunts & whatever ideas we come up with! Our club also organises fund raising events for other charities, as well as helping out in community events & other local Lions clubs events.

One of many charities we help is Children in Need. Last year Lions club members in the South Essex area, collected money for Children in Need at Lakeside Shopping Centre during & just after Children in need day.

We help out other local Lions clubs in their community events, such as Disabled sports day, which takes place in Southend every June.

As well as fund raising, Our club has an active social diary. We visit other local Lions clubs to as part of friendship & fellowship. We share ideas & organise events considered too big for one club on its own. All Lions clubs have an annual charter anniversary. Some clubs celebrate formally with a dinner & dance, others with an informal lunch. For more information regarding Rayleigh Lions Club, see our charter page. We have social events throughout the year, usually once a month.
