What we've done
windmill1

As a club we do what we can to help individuals, community groups & various charities in the area of Rayleigh, Rochford, Hockley, Hullbridge & Ashingdon. A couple of examples of what we’ve done recently are shown below.

daycentrevehicle

Our club donated £12,000 towards the cost of a new minibus for the Hockley day Centre after the day Centre asked our club for help.

paulsands

The photograph above is the result of when a severely disabled individual (Mr. Paul Sands) asked the Lions clubs in the area for help, in purchasing a specially adapted minibus, in order for him to travel by himself & lead a normal life as possible. When one Lions club is unable to help on its own, it will request help from other Local Lions Clubs. In this case three Lions clubs got together to help pay for the minibus & to have it adapted.

bed

On this occasion, our club paid for & donated a portable bed for Southend Hospital. Our club also supports the Hospital radio station, in return the radio station helps support our events when needed, such as our firework display.
